Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 in linux
Install git:
# sudo apt-get install git # sudo apt-get install libusb-dev # sudo apt-get install libgtk-3-dev
Download the latest sources of sane:
# mkdir sane # cd sane # mkdir frontend # mkdir backend # cd backend # git init # git clone git://git.debian.org/sane/sane-backends.git # cd ../frontend # git init # git clone git://git.debian.org/sane/sane-frontends.git
Now, compile the backend:
# cd backend/sane-backends # configure # make # sudo make check # sudo make install # cd frontend/sane-frontends # configure # sudo make install
Before installing sane, remove the existing sane instalation (just in case):
# sudo apt-get remove sane # sudo apt-get remove xsane
Install saned:
# cd backend/sane-backends # sudo make install # cd frontend/sane-frontends # sudo make install
Now, start saned (sane daemon). Edit the file /etc/default/saned
and set run as yes:
# Set to yes to start saned RUN=yes
And run the daemon:
# sudo /etc/rc.d/saned start
Unfortunately, this doesn't work in my case.
